Telangana Cop Receives BestConstable' Award And Then GetsCaught Taking A Bribe The Next
It's a good day for irony and this hilarious
story is the reason.
Imagine getting honoured with a special
award and then being caught doing the
opposite of what you were awarded for just
the next day.
Oops, that's just a great case of bad luck and
a particular cop from Telangana completely
understands that.
Palle Thirupati Reddy, a police constable at
the Town police station in Mahbubnagar
received the Best Constable' award on
Independence Day from Telangana Minister
Srinivas Goud
But, within 24 hours of that, he was caught
red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau
(ACB) while accepting a bribe. Wow man,
having one of the best and one of the worst
days, back to back.
According to ACB DSP S Krishna Goud, he
had allegedly been harassing a resident of
Venkatapur village, identified as Ramesh, for
about one year. Ramesh said that the
constable would stop him whenever he was
transporting sand in his tractor, even though
he had all the valid and legal documents to
do so.
It got so bad that the cop even threatened to
file a false complaint against him. Blatant
abuse of power, not cool man.
But, Ramesh played it smart. He agreed to
pay Rs 17,000 to the constable and then
went ahead and filed a complaint with the
ACB ahead of time, essentially setting up a
trap.
Well, that worked perfectly. After his arrest,
the constable was presented before a special
court for ACB cases and sent to judicial
remand.
What a great ending for Ramesh and
shoutout to him for being so smart about it
and not just giving in to the threats.
Hopefully, now the cop actually changes his
ways and maybe one day, he'll actually earn
the 'best constable' award for real.
